Panama Canal Museum

The Ask: Create a campaign for the "Planet or Plastic" exhibition at the Panama Canal Museum.

The Insight: People care more about things that directly affect them.

The Execution: Designed the main artwork, social extensions, and merchandise for the exhibition using Panamanian landscapes and culture.

The "Planet or Plastic" initiative by National Geographic was launched to raise awareness about global plastic pollution and encourage individuals to reduce their plastic usage. It involved various media campaigns, articles, and exhibitions to showcase the impact of plastic on the environment.

Seen on the top is the poster designed for the Panama exhibition. It displays a plastic bag on a hill in Panama City where you would normally find the country’s flag, a landmark that every Panamanian is familiar with (reference above).

To support the campaign, I came up with the initiative to create and design a shirt that would be sold as merchandise and proceeds would be donated to the museum.

The design represents Panama's history, with items that can be found in the museum. The museum's logo is also placed at the center of the design (the two turquoise triangles.)
